Opposition Ensemble pour la République and its leadership led by party president Moise Katumbi have requested that the United States, the UN (Monusco), the European Union and Great Britain take the lead in the investigation of its slain spokesperson Chérubin Okende. The blood stained body of Okende was found lifeless on July 13 in his vehicle. Okende was reported kidnapped a day earlier in the precinct of the Constitutional Court. Katumbi and his team have said Okende’s death was politically motivated and therefore calls for a thorough and independent inquiry.
